Seniors Ignite Shoot in Vegas

Seniors Ignite Shoot in Vegas

I was in Las Vegas last month for a photography conference and I got the opportunity to shoot with some of the talented photographers in Seniors Ignite. It’s a group I am going to be doing more with over the next year and I am so excited to be able to offer my senior clients some unique shooting opportunities and the chance to be published on the senior blog “We are the SEEN”

Senior pictures DO NOT have to be boring and safe. This is a unique time in your life – the gateway between childhood and adulthood. Why would you settle for school pictures? Why should your senior pictures look the same as everyone else? BORING!

I believe that each senior session should be as unique as you are. We all have different interests, preferences, passions and desires. Why not incorporate those into a one of a kind, never-to-be-forgotten editorial style senior experience? I believe the shoot can be as memorable as the portraits themselves – let’s design something together. I will help plan the look and style of the shoot, we’ll decide on locations together and I will guide you through the whole process.

Here are some of my favorites from Vegas. Maybe we’ll be invited to shoot and model there next year …..or maybe somewhere even better!

Model Team – More of the Tribe!

Planet Photo Model Team – Meet more of the Tribe!

The Planet Photo Teen Model Team are from towns around CT and we are going to be shooting our group sessions on location all over the state (we might even find ourselves in New York City with some of the Senior Model Team!) This initial shoot was a great chance to meet some of the other team members and get a taste of the model experience with professional make up and turns in front of the camera. The make up got all the models camera-ready, and of course it was the icing on the cake for their first model shoot. They all jumped in and helped out where necessary, holding reflectors, putting up signs and most importantly they were giving each other compliments and encouragement. They are up for the challenge of collaborating to make our group sessions amazing!

So meet more of the Tribe…..

Planet Photo Model Team – The Tribe

Planet Photo Model Team – Meet the Tribe!

I am building my senior portrait experience to be an unforgettable part of your senior year. Each senior session is unique and designed around the interests of the individual senior clients.

I also knew that I wanted to offer a completely new and unique year-long “model experience” for a team of young people from the local area. These teens and seniors (ages 11-16) were recommended to the program to be positive role models and to let their inner beauty shine through.  We are going to have an amazing year of group and individual styled shoots. We will be working together to create new friendships; to support each other in this journey; and to create some amazing images along the way! We would love for you to follow along!

Our motto for this first year is

“Your VIBE attracts your TRIBE”.

Be positive.

Be loyal.

Be confident.

Be present.

Be compassionate.

Be responsible.

Be motivated.

Now look around at your tribe.

There is a good chance they are all of those things too.

I am happy to introduce you to the first of the Planet Photo Tribe of  2KSEVENTEEN!

Recent Graduate of NMHS – Meet Garrett

I got a phone call from Garrett’s mom right after Christmas. He was home for the holidays and wanted some portraits. He never did a senior session before he graduated and was it too late? Of course not! The weather was incredibly cooperative for January but we started in the studio first. He had seen some of my recent Passion Portraits and wanted some with that look. He introduced me to his favorite brand – Alphlete and showed me the look he was going for. A guy with a creative vision – it was my lucky day!!!

Graduate of NMHShttp://tarrywile.com/http://tarrywile.com/http://tarrywile.com/http://tarrywile.com/http://tarrywile.com/

We did the outside part at Tarrywile in Danbury. It was mild but still kind of brown and grey but I knew we could find some interesting spots to shoot there. He was a great sport and a great all round kid. We did the portraits he was after and we managed a few for Mom and Grandma too!

It was a pleasure to meet you Garrett!

Kids Photos in the CT Fall

Kids Photos in the Fall are an annual event for this family

It is so nice to look back on the wonderful Connecticut fall light on a dreary day like today. I didn’t realize how much I loved spring and fall until I moved to the New England. The winter can be bitterly cold and the days are short, the summer is too hot for me at times. But spring and fall – that’s were it’s at in my opinion!KIds Photos

Kelly brought her kids up to see me one morning for a really quick walk in the Harrybrooke Park. We’ve all met before and even though Ella was disappointed that Olivia wasn’t along to help this time we had a blast. When a session ends in hugs and invites to join them for ice cream then you know it’s been a success. Kelly styled her kids in Hannah Anderson and they could not have looked cuter. The details count when planning for a family session, timing, outfits and picking the right location to make it fun for everyone. I am pretty happy with the results here and we even got a couple of images with all three kids looking at the camera at the same time – no mean feat for three kids under 4!!!

Enjoy these warm, yummy, fall kids photos and dream of apple picking and apple cider donuts.

Love, Janet xo

CT Teen Photographer – Meet Samantha!

CT Teen Photographer Planet Photo introducing Sam

ct teen photographer

Sam is a talented kid. She is an incredible tumbler and and invaluable part of my daughter Olivia’s cheer team (Fourth in the Nation by the way….) Every year she takes part in a karate competition in Florida and she knocks it out of the park with her creative karate displays. She trains with her Dad at Modern Self Defense and Training Center based in New Milford, CT. and if you saw how high her kicks are in person you would be blown away.

So, down to business….. I almost had to gag Olivia to stop her from answering for her friend but I wanted to hear from Sam!

Teen Passion Portraits – Samantha

Teen Passion Portraits in the studio – Meet Samantha!

Sam is fun, bubbly, social and non-stop action kind of girl but she brings AMAZING focus and dedication to the karate mat. I wanted to show you just a little peek at both sides of her personality….

Teen sessions can be held at any time of year; either in the studio or on location (or both) and I love to highlight their personalities. Whether they are into dance at 10, karate at 13 and lacrosse at 16 or have had a pair of soccer cleats on since kindergarten, it doesn’t matter, everything is approached with dedication and PASSION! Capture those moments and celebrate them.
