We are the SEEN –

One Light Challenge

WeAreTheSeen-GrayLemon

Be Unique. Be present. Be creative. Show your personality. Be different. Be SEEN!

Planet Photo is proud to be part of a national group of photographers showcasing the stories of “the Undiscovered” Do you have a story to tell?

Each month I will be shooting a different theme; it could be a style, a photographic technique or a specific location but a selection of the images will be submitted for publication in the SEEN Magazine. SEEN Magazine is a style + culture magazine for a new generation of the Undiscovered. At the end of the year 12 models are chosen by the We are the SEEN team for a location shoot with the very best senior photographers from all over the country.

Olivia and Avery modeled on this month’s challenge – one light source. I will be working with the 2KSEVENTEEN Planet Photo model team to create these monthly challenges. There are limited spots available on the team for High School Seniors, the teen program is full for the 2016-2017 season but I am booking teen sessions.

CT Senior Photography – Meet Tony!

Planet Photo CT Senior Photography Session – Tony 2KSEVENTEEN

Tony came into the studio a couple of weeks ago with his dance bag in hand. I have known him since elementary school days and he has grown into such a handsome and well rounded young man. He is whip smart and has a great sense of humor but this is just a short introduction to his passion for dance and theater arts.

Me:  So I think I might know the answer to this one but what is your dream job?

Tony: My phone, headphones and a good book

Me: So what was the last good book that you read?

Tony: The Magicians series by Lou Grossman

Me: It looks like Harry Potter for grown ups! What is your favorite brand?

Tony: Converse

Me: So your favorite thing in your closet?

Tony: I love cardigans

Me: They totally fit the NYC actor image. Who is your favorite fictional character?

Tony: Remus Lupin (I had to google that one….)

CT Senior Photography

Me: Can you share a random fact about yourself?

Tony: I love 80’s music and movies (Who doesn’t??? Breakfast Club? OMG, About Last Night? My list of favorites is endless!)

Me: How might your friends describe you?

Tony: Intelligent or funny

I am pretty sure his friends are right, but I would add a couple though….. Talented. Mature. Dedicated.

I can’t wait for the day when we are sitting in the theater and watching Tony perform on stage. He better get us good seats!!!

Southbury CT Photographer – Happy Birthday!

Southbury CT Photographer – Happy 2nd Birthday Silas!

I just can’t believe how quickly these birthday milestones come around for my own children but it seems to go even faster for my Planet Photo family kids! Silas was a newborn when I met the family for the first time and I saw him again for one year photos but look at him now… a chatty, charming little dude with the nicest parents a kid could ever dream of. I met his parents at their house to show them their gallery and I got a chance to see all their framed Planet Photo images in their home – what a treat.

We lucked out with the weather and chose the golden hour at the end of the day for our session so we had amazing light. I love the images of him playing, running and of course snuggling with all his monsters, but my favorite is the image of him with him mom’s hands guiding him through life.

Enjoy!
