In their own words……

Joyful. Wisdom. Humor.

I believe the change for me was when I turned 55. I began caring more for myself and being “OK’ with that. I think we tend to caretake more for others than ourselves. I am more at peace and wiser than I have ever been in my earlier years. I have also accepted myself flaws and all and those flaws are what makes me beautiful. I believe when you have more years behind you than you do ahead, you just want to live life and not sweat the small stuff.
Learn healthy boundaries and never settle. Be true to yourself always.
I would want them to see my inner beauty, the strength beyond my eyes. Representing emotional beauty. (Sexy too)
I would want them to know how fabulous life can be and I lived everyday as positive as I could be.
I come from an Italian family. Grew up in a very close family. I have a cousin on every block. I grew up with several strong woman in my life and I learned that you can be strong and have fabulous style too! My Grandmother could clean a four-floor home and by 6pm turn into Sophia Loren. Loved that about her and still do.
One great challenge that I overcame was Anxiety and depression. Many years ago, these monsters ruled my life. Not anymore, I am grateful for the healing that has changed me inside and out!
I am most proud of the Son I have raised. He is an amazing young man with a heart of compassion. Has great rhythm like his mom and loves his family and friends.
God’s love, Laughter, and my speaking events.
Life too!!
I love humor. As a therapist I incorporate my sense of humor into my sessions. Love to make people relax and laugh! Usually telling stories about my family and how we could be a reality show.
To hold to your core beliefs and what makes you the person you are without apology and without caring too deeply about how others perceive you
A genuinely happy person
Father moved to CT from Norway when he was 9, parents grew up in Greenwich- met as teenagers – a few years after they got married they wanted to move to a quieter area so they moved to New Milford in 1969 and I was born a year later. They still live in the house I grew up in!
This probably seems silly, but balancing family and friends has always been a challenge- less of one now as I feel I more appropriately prioritize family
The qualities my kids have developed that have made them who they are
Sharing in the beauty of God’s creation with my loved ones, and even when alone. Anyone I am close to knows how much I enjoy sunsets. They never get old! Sunrises, ocean air, watching the birds, animals, and human babies interact with each other – lots of joy from that. Not to mention cooking a beautiful meal with gorgeous produce grown at a local farm. And just being with each other. All of these things bring me joy!
