Family PORTRAITS
Family portraits can be done at any time of year, generally I say there is no time like the present! We will set up a pre-shoot meeting, either by phone or in the studio to go over your ideas and overall look for the portraits. If you know where you will display them then that often helps to guide in the look of the finished image.
Things to consider
when planning your family portrait session:
Locations
Do you have favorite spot that you love to experience as a family? Would young children be more comfortable in the home environment or at a park. I like to capture the interactions of family members and if I give directions on posing then I let you go with it from there. The very best shots really do come in the “in-between” moments so I will always be shooting.
clothing & make-up
I will help you out here – I know it seems picky but coordinating but not matching outfits really can make a portrait.
I don’t include a make-up artist in the creative fee but I can recommend one if you are interested.
time of day
If you have children they need to be well rested and well fed. The golden hour is my favorite time to shoot but if your toddler is cranky in the evening then it’s not the best time for your family – we’ll work that out.
