Classic, elegant and timeless portraits of your family

When it comes to family portraits, sometimes less really is more. No props. No distractions. Just clean lighting, a simple backdrop, and the people who matter most. That’s the magic of in-studio black and white family portrait sessions — especially when the focus is on the kids.

This style lets kids be kids. They can laugh, fidget, pout, crack jokes, or flash that one-of-a-kind smile that only shows up when they’re really having fun. We guide the session just enough to keep things moving, but not so much that it feels forced. That’s how the personality comes through — naturally.

We keep the setup minimal on purpose. No themed sets. No gimmicks. Just a soft, neutral backdrop and lighting that flatters every skin tone. The result? Photos that feel fresh today and still look classic twenty years from now.

And here’s the best part: these black and white family portraits make the perfect Mother’s Day gift. Whether you surprise her with a framed print or bring her into the studio for a few shots with the kids — or both — you’re giving her something truly meaningful. And yes, dads, you’re welcome too. We’ll get a few great family shots that you’ll actually want to hang on the wall.

The final images are clean, expressive, and full of life. They frame beautifully, fit into any space, and don’t age out of style. Whether you’re after a single standout portrait or a full gallery to tell your story, a simple studio setup delivers results that are both fun and timeless.

Book now to get your session in before Mother’s Day — she’ll love it, and you’ll love the photos forever.

Senior Portraits Guide for Guys

Classic, Confident, and Actually Enjoyable!

Senior year is big. And for families with boys, you want senior portraits that feel elevated, timeless, and true to who he is—without being stiff or overdone.

These photos aren’t just for announcements or yearbooks. They’re for you, for him, and for the future. A good senior portrait captures a turning point: the last year of high school, the edge of independence. It’s a moment worth remembering, and remembering well.

Make It Comfortable, Not Cringey

Senior guys don’t want a big production—and we don’t give them one. Sessions are laid-back, quick-moving, and focused on natural poses that feel confident, not forced. We talk, we walk, we shoot. No fake smiles. Just solid photos.

What to Wear: Keep It Sharp, Keep It Him

Wardrobe can make or break the shoot. Here’s how to nail it:

Smart casual wins. Think tailored jeans or chinos, button-downs, quarter-zips, henleys. A sport coat or sweater adds polish without going full formal.

Stick to solids and neutrals. Navy, charcoal, white, forest green—these always look clean on camera. Avoid neon, loud patterns, and big brand logos.

Bring options. One dressier look, one more relaxed, one wild card! We’ll shoot them all.

Layering works. Jackets, vests, or over-shirts create depth and variety without needing a full outfit change.

Add personal details. A varsity jacket, watch, favorite boots, or something tied to his sport or interest makes it more “him.”

Branding Spotlight - BARBARA TEMPLETON EMDR therapIST

Show your clients who you are before they walk through the door

headshot styling tips

If you’re a therapist, coach, or wellness professional, your brand starts with you. And your headshot shouldn’t be an afterthought.

We recently worked with Barbara, an EMDR therapist, who wanted to update her branding portraits to better reflect her professional identity. Her goal was simple but powerful: to create a visual first impression that was open, trustworthy, and aligned with the calming, supportive space she offers her clients.

My name is Barbara Templeton, and I am a licensed EMDR therapist. I am deeply passionate about EMDR therapy because I have witnessed firsthand its transformative power in individuals’ lives. I chose this path because EMDR is a scientifically validated approach. My mission is to assist individuals in liberating themselves from limiting beliefs that perpetuate outdated patterns of behavior, which can manifest in various health challenges. I work with individuals seeking a fulfilling, productive, peaceful, and healthy life.

Helping others live with greater resilience and self compassion.

“Providing peace and power to individuals through therapy, yoga and meditation”

It has been an honor to support clients in reducing or eliminating anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) behaviors, and negative thought patterns. Additionally, I assist them in navigating complex relationships and processing traumas such as sexual assault and various forms of abuse. My ultimate objective is to provide attentive listening and guide clients in eliminating negative core beliefs. I empower them to replace these beliefs with positive affirmations.

My clients come from diverse backgrounds, spanning the teenage years to the elderly. EMDR facilitates the brain’s natural healing process, leading to holistic healing on all dimensions of an individual’s well-being.

Clients are looking for connection before they ever reach out. A warm, authentic portrait can be the first step in building trust. Especially for therapists, where the relationship is the work, your photos need to communicate more than just what you look like—they need to show who you are.

What We Focused On

For Barbara’s session, we prioritized:

  • Natural light and soft tones to reflect a calm, safe space

  • Professional yet approachable wardrobe choices that echoed her overall brand palette

  • Poses and expressions that showed compassion, attentiveness, and calm confidence

The result? A cohesive gallery of portraits that she can use across her website, Psychology Today profile, social media, and marketing materials—all reinforcing the same message: grounded, open, and professional care.
