THE SENIORS IGNITE AUSTIN COLLECTIVE

Austin, Texas

January 26th, 27th and January 28th, 2019.

THE NATIONAL MODEL COMPETITION

Everyone has a story.

We want to tell YOURS.

We’re looking for people like you. Someone who makes their own rules. Who doesn’t follow the crowd.

Creative. Confident. Independent. Original. Undiscovered.

Who are you?

WE WANT YOU TO BE SEEN.

destination shoot

The National Winning Models will be photographed on location in January 2019 at the Seniors Ignite Austin Collective by the Lead Seniors Ignite Photographers. They will also model for and be photographed for two days by some of the leading senior photographers all over the U.S. at the Seniors Ignite Austin Collective.

Winning models will be fully styled for all shoots; Seniors Ignite will provide all hair and makeup, as well as a minimum of 2 fully styled outfits for each model to wear. We will work with each winning model to create and style the rest of their wardrobe. Models will also receive walking and posing instruction prior to the shoots.

Winning models’ stories and image editorials will be nationally published and featured online.

Winning models will receive all images from the Lead Seniors Ignite Photographers as well as the Collective Photographers for their personal use.

Seniors Ignite offers these unique individuals a platform to share their vision and their story with a broader audience that is focused on the stories of a new generation of the Undiscovered.

All winning models are required to attend all official dates of the Seniors Ignite Austin Collective in January 2019, including any additional dates for their shoots with the Lead Seniors Ignite Photographers.

Winning models must be at least 16 years of age in January 2019 and be able to represent a high school senior. There is no specific age or school year requirement.

INDIVIDUAL’S ‘STORY’

This part must be written by YOU.

This is not the final story for publication, this is simply the story for the judges. Winners will be given more information and write their final story for publication in the spring.

Tell your ‘story’ – what makes you unique and interesting to others? It can be a past, present or future story, event, idea, dream, trip, point in time, something you did, something that happened to you, something you had a big impact on, etc.

It is not is a resume. They are not looking for anything along the lines of ‘I went to XYZ school, I played XYZ sport, I am in XYZ club and I want to attend XYZ college and become a teacher and get married and have kids and teach.’ There is nothing unique or interesting about that to someone who does not know you.

Write this from the stand point of what would be interesting to someone who has never met you, did not know how old you are, where you lived, what you did, anything at all about you. What would you share that would be interesting to someone else?

We are also not looking for ‘picture perfect’ stories. Not all stories will have happy endings, or ‘rainbows and sunshine.’ Some may be hard to read or tell. Others may be hilarious and funny. What we do not want is something ‘generic’ or something that shows perfection in every way. This is meant to be a very authentic story or event or dream, etc., that would interest someone who does not know you.

VIDEO

We are looking for roughly a 30-60 second video that is both unpolished and unedited. The purpose of this video is simply to get to know your personality and see how you interact in raw form on camera – don’t overthink anything at all. The content itself is not important except to see you talking and interacting, as well as walking or playing around.

If you are not comfortable simple talking about yourselves, here are some example questions (don’t overthink the answers – just engage).

State your name and winning photographer.

Where are you from?

What’s your favorite thing in your closet?

What are you doing with your friends this week- end?

If we asked your friends to describe you what would they say?

Tell us something about yourself that no one knows.
