Head shot Day

Branding Headshot Day

First Monday Every Month

When was the last time you updated your headshot? Your online first impression should be genuine, authentic and UP TO DATE! It needs to look like you now. Not the you before you cut your hair; before you lost 20 pounds; or how you looked 20 years ago!

In my opinion, a good head shot should show a little bit of your personality but it should also show professionalism.

Think about where you will share your head shot. Do you present at conferences or meetings? Do you have your head shot on your business card? Linked-In? Social Media or dating websites? Determining your audience will give me an understanding of how you should be photographed. Does your company have special requirements? Some require a white backdrop and I can do that!

Let me help you update your personal brand with a new headshot.

Reserve your spot on the first Monday of the month to be eligible for special pricing.

You will be photographed in up to two outfits on a light grey/white background and a dark background.

You choose your two favorite shots from a gallery and I will deliver fully edited versions to you (in color and black and white!).

$200

If you need more than the Headshot Monday you should check out the  Solo and Small Business Branding Sessions. Contact Me and we can design a shoot around your specifications.

Branding Placeres Naturopathic

Branding

I would love for you to meet Dr Amanda Placeres. Dr. Amanda Placeres is located right next to me on Bank Street in New Milford and it has been an inspiration to see the drive and enthusiasm she has brought to her business. We have brainstormed on how to best present a cohesive and professional web and social media presence, and we have both had so much fun and learned so much about branding through images along the way.

What business do you own?

I am a Naturopathic Physician and acupuncturist. I founded Placeres Naturopathic & Acupuncture from a place of heart and continue to lead with passion. Our first and most important goal is to get your mind and body into optimum health. We focus on disease prevention and optimizing wellness through the least invasive and most effective therapies for the individual. With therapies that are patient-centered, we offer advanced diagnostic testing, individualized treatment plans, medical-grade supplements, and so much more. We offer a unique approach to managing your health that will leave you feeling happy, healthy, and whole.

When did you start your practice

What started as one small office in Norwalk in 2016 has developed into a multidisciplinary clinic in New Milford with satellite offices in Norwalk and Stamford.

Why did you come to New Milford?

I fell in love with New Milford, its people and the “small town vibe.” I knew I wanted to be a part of a community that really cared about one another. What I enjoy most about practicing in a small community is the doctor-patient relationships I form with patients and the involvement in town events. My own health was transformed by the support I received from the amazing educators in my life, like school counselors, teachers, and professors. That’s why I now seek to educate others through monthly workshops and events for free, to promote the health and well-being of the community.

Why did you start working with Janet Taub?

Janet is my neighbor in the building where we are located. She was the first tenant I met. I was excited to have a photographer close by.  I had been wanting to update my business photos and branding for a while but did not meet the right professional yet. I knew she was great right away when I saw the type of work she did. After out first session working together, I was blown away by her expertise, ease and creativity with the camera. Every session we have done together is better than the one before. This is because Janet has taken the time to understand me, my business and how I practice. She knows better than I do how to make that translate into a photo. Since working with her, my business has never looked better on social media platforms and my website. Patients know at first glance what services we offer and what to expect before stepping foot into the door.

We are planning our next branding shoot so follow Placeres Naturopathic on instagram to see more of our images and for lots of tips on living a healthy balanced lifestyle.

Faces of Female Entrepreneurs Exhibition

Faces of Female Entrepreneurs

Portrait Exhibition

The idea for the Faces of Female Entrepreneurs project came from a portrait conference in California last year. The leader of the Portrait Masters conference, Sue Bryce, made the first presentation of the day and introduced her team by inviting them to come up on stage. They were each carrying a 5 foot tall black and white image of themselves. The crowd went crazy and those enormous powerful prints stood in the hallway and mesmerized the conference attendees for the next two days. You looked at those printed portraits and you could feel their power and sense the personality of the subjects.

I decided I wanted to do that too! The problem was I didn’t have a team. Like so many small business owners I wear many hats, so short of photographing myself immersed in a variety of tasks, my series of portraits stopped at one. I realized that my position was similar to many of my neighbors downtown and the idea of focusing on my fellow female entrepreneurs was born.

So I did what everyone does these days, and I created a Facebook event. For good measure I even printed posters, and I invited women who had started a business in New Milford to contact me so that I could create their portrait.

I set my initial goal at 20 portraits. That came and went pretty quickly and I ended with 35 plus one of me! Of course there are many more talented business owners in New Milford but time and resources meant that I had to stop. Some of the last portraits were of Rita and Anne. Two local ladies who started Literacy Volunteers on the Green from a park bench on New Milford green. Their group of mainly female volunteers have been teaching literacy skills to local residents since 2005. Some of them have even gone on to start their own business.

I wanted to show these beautiful strong women the look of strength, power and determination in their eyes. I am proud to be part of this network of women. The portraits were shown at the opening night at 19Main and the exhibition will be on display during April at Makery Coworking on Bank Street, New Milford.
